Saigon Saigon

Saigon Saigon in Chiswick, is a Vietnamese restaurant I have wanted to visit for a while now and we are glad we had finally had the chance.

Upon arrival you are greeted by the very friendly reservations manager (be sure you book a table beforehand as I have been turned away previously) and seated in a stylish dining area decorated with dark wood and bamboo.

Choosing what to have was somewhat of a mission as the menu was so vast, but we like a place with variety and finally settled for Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Minced Chicken & Prawn, and Char-grilled Pork Balls marinated with Honey and Mixed Herbs. Boiled Vermicelli and Rice Paper as starters. For the mains we had Stir-Fried Beef on salad bed, dressed with Ground Pepper and Wine Vinegar with Steamed Fragrant Rice and the famous Pho (traditional rice noodle soup) with Sliced Beef & Brisket.

Food was nicely flavoured with fresh ingredients and plenty of dipping sauces. Dishes were ample sized so we were not still hungry – which is never a nice feeling lets be honest. Between the two of us it cost us just over £40. Even thought you can find the same type of food in the cafes of East London for a much cheaper price, Saigon Saigon is in a League of its own!

Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening; great food, nice atmosphere and eating made fun!
